What is MommyTalk.com?
Welcome to the MommyTalk.com™ site. MommyTalk.com is a unique, family-oriented website where it's members can create a family homepage with individual, safe pages for kids. You can also craft and customize profiles, upload photos, video, write blogs, receive e-mail and much more, all for free. Invite family and friends to join your network, providing them access to your profile to keep them more connected and updated.
MommyTalk.com brings together a community of parents that can share their experiences, challenges and excitements about parenting with other parents. With the ability to create an array of blogs, forums and chat groups, you will be able to share and gain the joys and pains of parenting.

How do I join?
Become part of the MommyTalk.com community today (another link to the signup page), it's easy and free. All you have to do is go to the signup button on the homepage and click. You can also click on the "Create an account" link under the Member Login section. From there, you will be taken to the signup page. The signup page is where you will choose your username and password. You will also be able to set your account viewing options (Everyone, Registered Users or Only My Friends). Once you have filled out the signup page and agreed to our "User Terms" and "Security Agreement", you will be taken to your new user homepage.
Your username and password are emailed to the email address that you entered. Anytime that you return to MommyTalk.com, enter in your username and password to access to your homepage and our services.

How do I create my profile?
Once you have registered an account and signed in, you will be taken to your new user homepage. Members are provided with a number of services to create their own unique web page. Those services include:
- Profile Questions
- Blogs
- Kid Pages
- Page Settings and Customization Options
- Friends (your network)
- Gallery (Picture, Video and Music)
- Mail (Mommytalk.com email account)
- Private Messages (within MommyTalk.com network)
- Forum
All of these services can be accessed from your user homepage. Here is a breakdown of how to access and use each of these services.

How to - Profile Questions?
The "Profile" section is where you help your friends and family get to know more about your family. From random questions like "go to the movies or rent a movie" to "number of children", you will enjoy filling out your profile and describing just exactly what makes your family tick.
To access this section, click on "Profile" under the "Edit My" section. You will be taken to your Profile Manager Page. Here you will find a list of questions that you can choose to answer. If you don't feel like answering a question, they won't show up on your profile. Once you have answered the questions that you want, click on "Save Profile Settings". Your answers will now show up in your profile section. You may go back and update this section at anytime. If you would like to cancel changes that you are in the process of making, just click the "Cancel" button. Your profile questions will appear on your user homepage.

How to - Blogs?
The "Blog" section is where you create and update your own blog. Blogs are an easy and fun way to share funny everyday stories and occurrences, give your network a closer look into you and your life, share helpful insights that you learn or just plain entertain yourself and others. You can also access your blogs and review what you have already created.
To access this section, click on "Blog" under the "Edit My" section. You will be taken to your Blog Manager Page. Here, you will find the "Add a blog entry" link. Click on this to start your blog. You can enter a title and subtitle for that blog. You will also find a section to enter content for your blog. Above the content section are different options for the content of your blog. You will also have the option of adding a picture to your blog, a great way to enhance the message of your blog. Just click on the "browse" button next to the "Upload Photo" area and choose the photo that you would like to add. Once you are finished with your blog, click on "Save Blog Entry".
You can also access and edit blogs that you already created in this section. All ready created blogs are located at the bottom of the page. You can edit those by clicking on the "edit" button. Once you have edited, click on "Save Blog Entry" to save changes.
To view your blogs, click on the link that has your username's blog on your user homepage. This link is located near the top of the homepage, next to your profile link. This will take you to your viewable blog page. Depending on how many blogs you have created and the length of those blogs, you may have to click on the "Expand all blog entries" or "Expand this blog entry" to see the entire blog.

How to - Kid Pages?
The "Kids" section is designed for members to be able to build a separate page for each of their kids. This is a really fun way to portray and share a child's personality and give friends and family special updates and insight into each child.
To access this section, click on "Kids" under the "Edit My" section. You will be taken to you're "My Kid Manager" page. Here, you will find the "Add a new child" link. Click on this to start a kid's profile. You can enter their name, birthday, brief description and a profile photo. Once you entered that information, you should move to their profile questions. Click on the "Edit [child's name] profile" link located next to the "Edit [child's name] info" link. You will be taken to a list of questions that you can choose to answer. If you don't feel like answering a question, they won't show up on their profile. Once you have answered the questions that you want, click on "Save Profile Settings". Your answers will now show up on their kid page. You may go back and update this section at anytime. If you would like to cancel changes that you are in the process of making, just click the "Cancel" button.

How to - Page Settings and Customization Options?
The "Page Settings" section was created to give members a way to view and change their profile settings, as well as customization options for their profile. Members can change the information next to their profile, security settings, the photo that is shown on next to their profile and the background of their profile page. You can also cancel you account on this page.
To access this section, click on "Page Settings" under the "Edit My" section. You will be taken to you're "My Page Settings Manager" page. In there, you will see all of the information that is portrayed on your user homepage. If you would like to change what is made public, just unclick the information that you don't want seen. To change your profile picture, choose a new photo in the account details. You will also find your security settings in this section. To save your changes to all of the information that you have revised, click on "Save Profile Settings" on the bottom. If you would like to cancel changes that you are in the process of making, just click the "Cancel" button.

How to - Friends?
The "Friends" section is where you go to see your current network and invite others to join. This allows you to grow your network and keep all of your friends and family updated about any changes that you make to your profile.
To access this section, click on "Friends" under the "View My" section. You will see invitations that you have sent out to other members and contacts to join your network. You will also see your current network. You can access their pages by clicking on their usernames. Click on the "Invite Friends" link to send a message to anyone that you would like to invite that person to join your network. Click on the "Search MommyTalk.com to Grow Network" link to go to the search page. You can search the MommyTalk.com database and view members that fit the search you have entered. If they have locked their profiles and you do not have permission to view, you may send them a personalized message requesting permission to join their network.

How to - Gallery?
The "Gallery" section is where you can upload pictures and videos. This is an easy and fun way to share family moments such as vacations, birthday parties, holidays and more with your friends and family. Create galleries as you see fit and put the pictures with titles into those galleries. The video section will be available for users very soon.
To access this section, click on "Media Gallery" under the "My Services" section. Start by creating a new gallery name, next to the "Enter the name of a new gallery here:" box. Once you have entered in your new gallery name, click on "Add New Gallery". You can upload photos to the gallery that you choose by first choosing that gallery next to the "Current Gallery" section. Once you have selected a gallery, you can upload photos by choosing that picture file. Go to the "Browse" button next to "Upload a photo to ..." Find and select the file that you would like to upload. Once the picture has uploaded, give the picture a title and hit update. Have fun creating as several categories and photos into each.
By going to "Media Gallery" under the "My Services" section, you can see what you already have posted, take off posted material, add and/or view "comments" to your existing uploads and/or post new files. While browsing through a friend's profile, you can view their gallery by clicking on the "[Their name] Photo Gallery". This is an easy and fun way to share your pictures with friends and family, to stay connected even more.

How to - Email? NEEDS TO BE COMPLETED
The "Mail" section is where you go to access your email. Once you sign up for an account, you will also be given a new MommyTalk.com email address account. MommyTalk.com knows that communication is the best way to keep connected with loved ones. You can also send out emails from here to grow your network.
To access this section, click on "Email" under the "My Services" section. You will have access to all of your incoming and outgoing email.

How to - Private Messages?
The "Private Messages" section is where you can send and receive mail between MommyTalk.com users. This allows for quick communication between MommyTalk.com members.
To access this section, click on "Private Messages" under the "View My" section. You will find your inbox and outbox of private messages. You can access someone's page by clicking on the username in this section. You have the option of reading and responding to your private messages. Click on "View" or "Thread" next to the private message you would like to access.
While browsing through other profiles, you will see a "Send Private Message" link on the right side of their profile. Click on this to send a private message to that member.

How to - Forum?
The "Forum" section is where you can search the MommyTalk.com forum. Forums are a great way to get information, meet other members that you share common interests with or just plain have fun. The forum has all types of topics to discuss with other members. From talking with other moms about subjects such as diaper rash, potty training and/or raising a high school kid, to discussing the latest happenings on Desperate Housewives, the MommyTalk.com Forum is easy to use.
To access this section, click on "Forum" under the "My Services" section. You will be taken to the forum homepage. Scroll through and choose the topic that you are interested in and feel like talking to others about. You will be taken to that corresponding section, where you will be able to access existing chats or create a new one. Click on the "new thread" before going into an ongoing chat to create a new subject/chat for that section. To access an existing chat, just click on the chat's thread that you would like to access. By clicking on the "new thread" below that topic, you will continue and communicate in an ongoing forum. You have the ability to see how many people have contributed to different topics and when the last message or thread was created for that topic.

How do I search MommyTalk.com for other members?
Searching the MommyTalk.com database for other members and those with similar interests is both easy and fun. Searching our database is an easy way to make new friends and find others that you might not have known are already members. You can reach the search area in two different locations.
You can enter in the information that you are looking to find in the "Search" box at the very top of the page. Press search to activate your search. This will bring you to your results page. This option does not have all of the search options while searching.
Your second option is clicking on the "Search" link in the top menu. This will take you to the "Search" page. You will now be able to enter more specific searches for the MommyTalk.com network. Enter in the information on that page and click "Search Results". This will bring you to your results page as well.
It is important to note that you may not be able to access someone's page once you have located that person from the search function. If they have chosen to lock their profile, you will have to send them an email from the MommyTalk.com network asking for permission to view their profile. You see that their profile is locked and it will ask you if you would like to invite them to join your network. You must do this if you would like to view their profile and complete your search. You may have access to their profile if they agree, you will not if they don't.

How do I view other profiles?
Viewing other profiles is one of the main reasons MommyTalk.com was created. It is a simple way to stay connected with the friends and family that are a part of your MommyTalk.com network. You can view one of your network's profile page by clicking on their profile name in several sections.
The main area to click on a profile's name is on the left hand side of your user homepage, under the "My Friends!" header. By clicking on their user name, you will be directed to their viewable profile. You can also access your friend network by clicking on "Friends" under the "View My" section. This will take you to your entire friend network. Click on the corresponding friend's username to access their profile.
There are other places to view your network's profile page. Just click on their profile name in other sections that it appears to go to their profile page.

What can I do while viewing other profiles?
Viewing other's profiles that you have permission to access allows you to better stay connected to your friends and family. By viewing their profile, you have the ability to view their main profile, profile questions, kid profiles, blog, gallery and send them private messages.
To do each of these, you must click the corresponding links. You will find these located throughout their profile page. Clicking on these options will give you different options for communicating and/or reviewing their profile. This is a great way to stay communicated and updated with your network.
