Title: Which were you hoping for more?
Posted: 2 yearss ago

This may be a bad question, but I know that when we were trying to have kids, we had our wish list.

So,

Which were you hoping for more while you were trying to conceive -- boy or a girl?

I'll start. While we were trying to have our first, we wanted a girl. After Shelly, we wanted a boy and got Travis. After Travis, we didn't have a preference and got Justin. Our fourth one, we didn't even want or plan on having more, but we were blessed with Rebecca.

Someone else's turn.

First, I know I would have been happy with either.  But, I really wanted a boy and did want a boy so much that I was concerned when we found out the sex that I would be disappointed if it was a girl.  I kept telling myself that it didn't matter sex we would be blessed with and that no matter what I will love my child.  But, when my husband figured out we were having a boy in during the ultrasound, I was thrilled!

Honestly, I was hoping for a girl. I am a first-born female, and it's my opinion that girls who are born first tend to be more independent. I am so happy with my boy, though. He's already starting to have a little boy voice, and a couple of days ago he started growling a bit. LOL. He is so happy and we have lots of fun.

With our 1st I didnt really have a preference. When we found out it was a girl I was thrilled. With our second I really wanted a boy, and we ended up having Steven. With our 3rd I REALLY wanted a girl. I had convinced myself I was having a girl. We never found out the sex until birth, but once I saw Jacob the whole idea of wanting a girl just disapeared. I was so in love with him!!

If we ever have another baby I really want another girl. Boys are fun...but I love buying little baby girl clothes, and putting little bows in their hair!! They look so sweet!

I really wanted a boy.  I'm not a frilly, pink kind of person and I just knew that would be what having a girl would turn into.  My husband was hoping for a girl.  He was beside himself when they told us we were having a girl.  I was sad for about 3 seconds.  Now that I have a girl, I hope if we are blessed with another, it's a girl too.

We both really wanted a boy first, to have the big brother.  But we both kinda figured we would be having a girl.  We just had 'that' feeling.  Well, sure enough, we found out at the first ultrasound that we were having a girl.  Of course, girls seem to be a lot funner to buy for . . . but I was still paranoid that we would have a boy and have to bring him home in a dress up until Gianna was actually born! My husband had a dream a few years ago that we were on vacation with a little girl who was about 5 years old.  Ever since then he 100% believed that our first would be a girl.  I actually at first believed that I was having a boy, but I think that when we found out it was a girl, we weren't surprised!  Girls are the best!

We wanted a boy and had already picked out the name but my husbands dad kept telling us that we were getting a girl. Then the strangest thing happened. My father-in-law died the day of the ultrasound. I wanted to cancel on my doctor but my friends said that I should go and make sure the baby was fine. Reality would be there when we got back. When the nurse told us that we were having a girl my husband and I cried tears of joy and sadness. Knowing this would have made his dad so happy.

It took me a while to get pregnant, so I can honestly say that I was just glad to be having a baby of either sex. My husband and all of my family members seemed to think that I was having a boy, and I was fine with that. But then when we had the ultrasound and found out I was having a girl, I "realized" that I had been wanting a girl all along! A baby is one of life's most precious gifts, and no matter what you have, it will be just what you were wanting!

With our first...when we found out we were pregnant the thoughts of carrying the family name was something that my husband was kinda stuck on.  I didn't really voice my thoughts because I didn't want to disagree with him.  So I just said as long as the baby is healthy.....I got put on bed rest at 16 weeks and deliverd Him at 25 weeks...My pregnancy was so touch and go....that I really just wanted our son to be healthy. And he was perfect!!!  Then we had twins...now I could voice out that I wish we could have one of each.....we found out that one of the twins was a boy early on......and little miss meg kept her legs crossed for a long time....We were bed rest for a long time also and delivered them at 30 weeks....Twin A was a girl Twin B was a Boy.....it was perfect!

All I wanted was 2 boys and that was it,our first I knew was a boy and so happy about. but God had other plans for me and my family. my mother, and mother in law were with me at the ultra sound both went crazy with the news that our 2ed and last was a girl I was a little upset at first and cried for days. but I know god only gives you the desires of your heart so I figured somewhere deep down I must have really wanted a girl... and I thank God for her everyday.

Well with the first I wanted a girl and that is what we got and with the 2nd I wanted another girl since we already had one I thought it would be easier and we had a boy.  Then with the 3rd I wanted another boy since my son was so laid back and such a happy easy baby and we got a girl who is actually the best baby ever!!!   I love them all so much and would not trade them for anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
