Anyone have a neighborhood where you can have block parties?

I think that's a great way for people to know one another which in turn promotes the safety of the neighborhood/communtiy.

I regret to say I only know about 10 of my neighbors.  Not that I want to have Christmas dinner with them, but I don't want to be Christmas dinner either (a la Jeff Dahmer.)  Hard to know if you have creeps like that if you don't even know them at all! 

I live in one and have yet to see it happen. I have lived here since Jan.  I know my other neighborhood had them all the time.

i wish. At least you know more of your neighbors then i do... i know like three or four of mine lol and i live in a neighborhood that hasnt restarted on the whole children generation yet... the old ones are clinging to their homes but it shouldnt be too long .... hopefully

I live on a dead end road, so I don't really see any block parties, but my husband knows all the people on this road.  I don't, but he's known almost all the people since he was little!  We never had any at our old neighborhood, but we did have neighborhood garage sales!

We don't have any block parties.  We only know a few of our neighbors.   It makes me a little sad.  Part of the problem is that AZ seems to be such a transition area.  People move in and out so quickly that you don't get a chance to make close friends.  Maybe that happens everywhere now, but I miss the days when I was growing up where you knew everyone around you and could count on them for anything.

We dont have any block parties either. We are pretty new to this neigborhhood, (3 yrs) and only know a couple people. It would be nice though. Mostly everyone is so busy and we only say the occasional hello. Usually when we're either coming or going.
