HPV is becoming a huge concern for women everywhere. I have had many friends that have had the "scare" happen to them at their annual examine. I recently heard that a vaccine has been created to prevent this from spreading. Has anyone else heard anything about it?

Yes there is a vaccine that is available for HPV. But the only catch is you have to be between the ages of 9 and 22 or havent had sex yet. So its best to think about getting it before our daughter have sex for the first time. Mine wont be until she is 45. LOL.

The vaccine is only good for 4 of the 100+ forms of the virus, although they are the most common 4, 2 of the low-risk and 2 of the high-risk. There is no test available for men to detect if they carry the virus or not, the women's annual is the only way right now. So, it is important to make sure all the daughters understand no sex or safe sex. For the sexually active, it is not just as simple of asking if the partner has been tested for a STD.

This is the most transmitted disease, as it can lay dormant for years, and you not even know about it. My friend was diagnosed with it and her husband or 6 years did not have it. She asked her doctor and he stated that it can lay dormant for up to 10 years. She eventually found out how she got it and it had been a guy that she had been with 8 years prior, knew he had it, and did nothing to prevent from spreading. Undetected - it can cause cervical cancer.
