When my son would throw a fit. I would tell him he's not doing it right. You have to lay down and kick your legs and scream really loud. He did not like this. So he hasn't thrown very many fits because he doesn't get the reaction out of me that he wants.

I remember this one time at a resturant we were waiting to get in and he decided to lay down in the middle of the floor and throw a fit. I stared at him and told him that if he was going to throw a fit in front of all of these people that he better make it worth watching. That he needed to kick a little more and scream louder. That the people around want something entertaining and not something boring. He stood up looked at me and ran and sat with his Grandpa. That was the end of that fit. We haven't had any public fits like that since. We have had crying fits but not any that involved throwing himself down and making a really big scene.

I just try not to give in to him when he starts something like that. You have to stick to your guns and make sure that he or she still knows whose boss.

I wouldn't say that all kids don't like to have different names. My husbands name is Brickman and he has loved it his whole life. I likes it because no one has it and it sets him apart from everyone else.

I voted for Chanelle because i too like different names. Heck i named my son Rockwell.
